This Rio Salado III report was presented to about 100 civic and municipal leaders at a conference in Scottsdale.  Organized and chaired by Dean James Elmore, the day long conference presented new and more detailed elaborations of the Rio Salado Project. This, the benefit of the further studies made by the succeeding classes of the ASU architecture students. An Arizona Republic editorial which reported on the conference stated, “Last week’s conference voted to transfer the development of the Rio Salado Project to the Valley Forward, which has succeeded Valley Beautiful.  A catalyst, intended to bring the Valley’s resources to bear on such problems,Valley Forward is the right agency for this job. ASU’s College of Architecture has developed a brilliant idea; Valley forward should move ahead with it.”
